FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Questions 1: Does the deployment/case study have to be of the year 2009 only?
Answer 1:
No, the deployment year could be any i.e. 2009, 2008, 2007...etc. but not older than 5 years.

Questions 2: What if a vendor does not have formally written case studies for their successful installations but they know their customers are satisfied and that the customers may even be willing to cooperate in turning these into winning deployment scenarios? Can vendors still nominate with the bits and pieces of info they can best gather?
Answer 2:
Yes, simply fill in the online nomination form as best as you can. Please make sure that minimum and maximum word count of content is met. Let your customers know that you are proud of the installation with them and that you would now like to nominate this deployment scenario with them for an Award if they have no objections.

Question 3: What if a vendor has sold products to their customers in the past, and the customers are satisfied too, but they are not willing to allow the vendor to use their name or agree to become a reference or even give them a customer quote that can be used. Is there a way the vendor can still nominate a similar/alike deployment scenario without naming the customer? For example instead of mentioning the customer name directly can we simply say Best Deployment Scenario for Large Enterprises?
Answer 3:
Yes, our editors talk to end-users all the time and are aware that sometimes a vendor just cannot get their customer to publicly discuss the deployment scenario for privacy or any other reasons. You may submit a generic case study in such a case. However, this case study must not be an imaginary one. It should resemble a real deployment still.

Question 4: If a vendor has already written some formal Case Studies in the past and some of these are on their web sites too. Is it ok if we nominate these existing Case Studies for the Best Deployment Awards?
Answer 4: Yes, your previous Case Studies whether they are on your web site in PDF, html or MS Word format are all eligible for nominations. But you must still fill the details in the online nomination form even for such case studies. You may send a copy of such case studies to nominations[@]infosecurityproductsguide.com

Question 5: If a vendor wants to file a joint nomination with any of their channel partner, who should submit the completed nomination forms? And who should pay the nomination fee?
Answer 5: The vendor/or their PR agency should file all the nominations and submit all relevant fees even if this is a joint submission.

Question 6: What if a vendor is interested in nominating but unable to collect all the clearances from customers, joint with partners or even some content?
Answer 6: Submit your nomination forms by due date and request for a supplement submission date by sending an email to nominations[@]infosecurityproductsguide.com in writing. That way you will not miss this opportunity and deadline. However, complete clearance should be communicated to us within 10 days from the date of nomination closing otherwise the nomination will not be accepted.
