Multiple bandwidth limit types — BWO supports two types of real-time thresholds on protocols and web page categories: Limit-based on total outbound network traffic — Denies new requests for bandwidth when total outbound traffic exceeds a predefined threshold. Limit-based on per-application bandwidth usage — Denies new requests for a specific application when the total bandwidth being used by that application exceeds a predefined threshold. When a bandwidth limit is reached, Websense Enterprise automatically disallows new requests until bandwidth demand drops below the threshold level, thus assuring that business-critical Internet applications will run at full speed. Existing network connections are unaffected.
