In the following interview, Bill Bartow, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, Tizor discusses 1:1 with Rake Narang, Editor-n-chief of Info Security Products Guide, database auditing and protection.

Rake Narang, Editor-n-Chief - Info Security Products Guide: How aggressive have data breaches become lately? What are the key reasons behind the recent data breaches?

Bill Bartow, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management - Tizor: Data breaches continue to become more aggressive as well as more creative in terms of how they are executed. Data is a valuable commodity and has an increasing street value. This makes it an enticing target for sophisticated data thieves looking to resell it via the data black market.

"A proactive approach must be taken in keeping vital data secured at all times. Data breaches happen. Tizor's database auditing and protection solutions can help increase database security while also adhering to regulatory compliance requirements."

Rake Narang, Editor-n-Chief, Info Security Products Guide

Rake Narang:
What are the latest products and services provided by Tizor? How are security solutions from Tizor helping organizations adhere better to regulatory compliances and keeping their data secured?

Bill Bartow: Tizor has just announced Mantra 5.9 database auditing and protection. Mantra 5.9 installs and deploys faster than other solutions and policies are easier to generate and maintain, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership. Companies are using it to rapidly address database security, internal data governance and a wide range of external compliance requirements and industry standards like SOX, GLBA, FFIEC and PCI.

Rake Narang: Will the security vendors always be playing a catch-up game with malware? How do you see the security products and services evolving 2-3 years from today?

Bill Bartow:
Security has always been somewhat of a cat and mouse game--with vendors working to see into the future and hackers trying to beat the latest and greatest. One of the advantages of database auditing is that it sees what the bad guys are doing as they are doing it. No need to second guess. You see it and you deal with it as it is happening.

Rake Narang: How is your company focusing on 2008 growth? As an executive leader, what steps have you taken that have had a positive impact on your company?

Bill Bartow:
We are working directly with Global 2000 companies and with partners to provide the functionality, ease of use and rapid time to value that customers are asking for. In 2008 we will deliver the most scalable and easiest to deploy and use enterprise database auditing and protection solutions for compliance and data protection to a much wider and globally diverse audience.
