ENDFORCE Hot Companies 2006

ENDFORCE

The Company

Enterprises face a whole lot of difficulties in a real world scenario, especially when security policies are not effectively planned and compiled. If they are planned, they may not effectively be enforced, and every now and then rogue or non-compliant network devices plug into a network opening security holes. Hackers and attacks are becoming more sophisticated, taking advantage of any type of vulnerability. ENDFORCE can help enterprises proactively plan their security strategies and ensure that they are effectively and timely enforced.

The Beginning

Founded in 1999, ENDFORCE is privately held.

What makes ENDFORCE, Inc. an Info Security "Hot Company" 2006

Products & Technologies

Innovative Technology: Originally released in summer 2004, ENDFORCE Enterprise helps organizations to quickly and effectively address policy enforcements. It allows large enterprises to define, assess and enforce security policies for all users – guests, employees, contractors, remote workers – and deny access to rogue, or unknown, users.  With ENDFORCE Enterprise these users are checked for compliance before they are granted access to the network. Based on their compliance with the corporate security policy, these users are either given full or limited access, forced to comply with policy, or denied access altogether.

Product Enhancements: Since the release of version 2.0, the product’s first major upgrade, ENDFORCE has released two additional versions of Enterprise over the last year. The most recent release was version 2.5, which went to market in October. The enhancements in these new versions are based on technological advancements made by ENDFORCE's product development team and customer feedback.

Product Capabilities : ENDFORCE developed Context Aware Authorization (CONTEXT™) technology to power ENDFORCE Enterprise. This innovative technology combines knowledge of a user's role, access method, endpoint health, and available threat responses when determining authorization to enterprise network resources. By defining security policy using CONTEXT, organizations can customize access to network resources based on the current state of system security. CONTEXT allows for granular enforcement – users can be quarantined or permitted restricted access until they become compliant with corporate security policy.

Compatibility Advantage - Easy integration with existing infrastructure and does not require expensive upgrades in equipment.

People & Investors

Outstanding and Dedicated Employees: As with any company, ENDFORCE's best asset is its people - a talented team of industry veterans and technology experts with diverse experience and skill sets in security, access, networking, sales, business development and customer service.

Performance & Growth

Go-to-Market Strategy, Sales Process and Customer Service - ENDFORCE launched Enterprise 2.0 in February 2005. The greatly enhanced product was based on feedback from customers using the initial release of the product and months of research and development. ENDFORCE Enterprise was also tested at customer sites.

Potential & Strategies

Industry Partnerships and Alliances - ENDFORCE has joined critical and often unique industry partnerships to ensure that its technology is meeting the security policy enforcement needs of large organizations. Some of these initiatives include playing a key role in developing industry standards for trusted computing and forming key partnerships with Cisco and Microsoft to ensure that ENDFORCE Enterprise is interoperable with their emerging technologies. Earlier this year, ENDFORCE formed a unique partnership with Lucent resulting in the creation of plug-in technology that allows Lucent's VitalQIP customers to easily use ENDFORCE Enterprise to protect their networks without adding expensive equipment or upgrades. ENDFORCE has formed key infrastructure partnerships with Lucent, Microsoft and Cisco, among others.

Expanding Reach - Lucent Technologies has been so impressed with the integration of its product with ENDFORCE Enterprise that it has not only agreed to sell the software nationally but also to its large international markets.

Channel Program - ENDFORCE expanded its channel partner program by forming a partnership with Vigilar, the largest reseller of security products in the nation.
