What makes Fox Technologies an Info Security "Hot Company" 2006

Products & Technologies

A Contrarian Mindset - Fox Technologies is challenging the way corporations think about security. Its radically simple corporate philosophy states that point solutions will soon atrophy because they bear almost no business value. Fox Technologies is interested in helping its global customer base prepare for the future—one in which security transcends the subject of compliance and instead becomes part of a holistic business and operational system that promotes corporate efficiencies, real-time and proactive data visibility and advances corporate governance.

Security Pedigree - During its inception as TFS Technology, Fox Technologies was spun out of RSA Security, an organization that is synonymous with inventing security for the Internet. RSA Security’s Conferences are still the most prestigious information security events that attract security influencers worldwide to share information and exchange ideas on security and technology trends. Fox Technologies was born from this organization and deep security expertise runs through the molecular structure of its corporate DNA.

Swedish Engineering meets Bay Area Innovation - Fox Technologies’ customers are the happy beneficiaries of what happens when Swedish Engineering collides with Sand Hill Road. Fox’s security solutions are precise, robust and built to last the toughest abuse possible—even the most bitterly cold Swedish winters. This expertise is married to the corporate savvies and aggressive business strategies that have become the hallmark of the San Francisco Bay Area. Together, these strengths provide the real foundation for Fox Technologies to lead its customers into the future of security.

The Solutions

  • Fox ApplicationControl® - Stop security and controls violations with continuous application controls
  • Fox AccessControl for Servers(tm) - Empowers administrators to configure rules-based access to thousands of hosts from a single point
  • Fox AccessControl for Workstations(tm) - Provides comprehensive protection for workstations within an enterprise
  • Fox AccessControl for Applications(tm) - Protects applications from the inherent weaknesses of client/server by centralizing access rights administration, authenticating users to applications and encrypting the link to the application

People & Investors

An Extreme CEO. German-born Max Seybold is not what one would call an average CEO. He successfully cultivates bananas in his backyard-even though he lives in a microclimate that is unusual for growing bananas. Max goes boogie boarding. He drives a Porsche 911. And although he didn't quite start out in a famed Silicon Valley garage, Max's first California office was located in his garden shed. But Max is not all sizzle and no steak- first and foremost he is a serial entrepreneur and a businessman at heart.

Before joining Fox Technologies in April 2005, Max served as President and CEO of BlackPearl, a maker of enterprise decision management software for the investment and insurance industries. At BlackPearl Seybold instituted a sales strategy that significantly improved revenues and eventually allowed the company to be acquired by ACL Services Ltd. Seybold was also President and CEO of ebix.com (previously Delphi Information Systems) where he achieved 30% annual increases in sales growth and a tenfold increase in
stock price.

Max plans on doing the same for Fox Technologies. Compliment him on the characteristics that make him an extreme CEO, and he'll tell you the real secret to success is building a team that attracts the best and the brightest talent worldwide.

Today, Max has built a powerhouse team that is challenging the way corporations think about security. During the next twelve months, the industry will see for itself how Fox Technologies is helping its global customer base prepare for the future-one in which security transcends the subject of compliance to become a profit-driven business requirement.
